The Laredo Kid(s)

Post by bassduke49 »

Neat comparison. The Fireglo 4004L Laredo is a '97, back when they were made with maple fretboards. Note the "once and future" pickup positions. Note also it has had the vol/vol/tone mod, and the original black/chrome TRC swapped for a standard white one. The Turquoise 4004L is an '04, with the now standard bubinga fretboard and with the "interim" pickup placement. Just got that one today.

Paul, I just love the maple fingerboard but man that Turquoise is killer to look at! Nice pair - you ought to be proud!

My 08 Laredo with a return to the earlier PU placement that Paul refers. Mine is wired vol-blend-tone.

I didn't realize that the rear pu placement was different on the "interim placement" model also. I always assumed it was just the front one.
It would be interesting to hear the difference on two with like construction, but different pu locations.
