The Laredo Kid(s)
Neat comparison. The Fireglo 4004L Laredo is a '97, back when they were made with maple fretboards. Note the "once and future" pickup positions. Note also it has had the vol/vol/tone mod, and the original black/chrome TRC swapped for a standard white one. The Turquoise 4004L is an '04, with the now standard bubinga fretboard and with the "interim" pickup placement. Just got that one today.

Welp, pile her with the rest.
Re: The Laredo Kid(s)
Paul, I just love the maple fingerboard but man that Turquoise is killer to look at! Nice pair - you ought to be proud!

My 08 Laredo with a return to the earlier PU placement that Paul refers. Mine is wired vol-blend-tone.bassduke49 wrote:Neat comparison. I didn't realize that the rear pu placement was different on the "interim placement" model also. I always assumed it was just the front one.
It would be interesting to hear the difference on two with like construction, but different pu locations.
