Gretsch Synchromatic Electric Archtop 100CE
Re: Gretsch Synchromatic Electric Archtop 100CE
It seems to me that the 100CE was based on the Eldoardo to some extent, right? Maybe? No?

Although to be honest most Gretsches look pretty much the same.

Surely the G100CE takes it inspiration at least in part from the Eldorado. Gretsch genetics, a new discipline emerges.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

Okay, here is a simple question, which came first the Synchromatic (chicken) or the Eldorado (egg)?admin wrote:Surely the G100CE takes it inspiration at least in part from the Eldorado. Gretsch genetics, a new discipline emerges.

Jeff: From what I have read the Synchromatic 100 was introduced in 1948 and the Eldorado did not appear on the scene until 1959. My knowledge of Gretsch instruments is minimal so I will not be surprised if there is more to the story. So in this case it seems that the Synchromatic is the egg and the Eldorado the chicken.

When did the chicken vs. egg dilemma get solved?admin wrote:So in this case it seems that the Synchromatic is the egg and the Eldorado the chicken.

Jeff: Not until 1959.
