Re: Red Rose Speedway Sticker?
That's cool! I doubt if there's another like it, too.
All I wanna do is rock!

She arrived today. The artwork is funky. Not smooth like the MMT but raised. It is definitely done by hand. The writing even appears shaky. It would never pass for factory work. It is very cool. If Paul (McCartney) had painted it himself this is what it would be like. If I didn't know what the art work was or why it was done i would say a very cool old hippie did the work. The ambering is AWESOME. This bass totally looks like a 40 year old bass. It is aged to perfection. A matte finish was used.
Not to sound like an idiot but it looks like something my dear departed brother would have done to his bass. He used to do drawings and art work to his Silvertone guitars. I wish I still had those. Anyway, thats what it reminded me of when I saw it. It looks very funky and very cool.

Thanks again, Paul. I put it next to my 1990 4001V63. It looks like the same aged finish that came naturally to that bass. The 4001V63 that you are doing work to has a similar finish. I thought the artwork would be cool, but the ambering is what makes the bass.
Rick, I know you told me that you don't want something permanent done to the bass, but a sticker on top of a brand new bass just won't do it. Hand painting the artwork and ambering the finish is the only way to go.

Here is your static--cling colorform idea... Printed easily with an inkjet...craig55 wrote:Anybody come up with something instead of painting it?
