1973 4001

Post by gareth »

Just arrived here from Japan. It took only 48 hours door to door. My 4001CS took two weeks to get here from New Jersey.....

All original, beautifully yellowed binding, wavy Grovers, full width inlays, and sounds terrific.

I'm looking for a period correct bridge pickup cover if anyone has one.

I really should stop this sort of thing.

Indeed it is. The bridge pickup is a button screw one. Inlays are not MOP.

Very nice! Do you know if the tailpiece is a replacement or original to that bass? I assume by MOP you mean it is not crushed pearl but it is the swirly type, like those on my March '73 4001?

Everything looks to be original from what I can tell. The tailpiece has the usual lift on it. The inlays are the same as yours there....

That's a sweetheart of a bass!

Congrats! :D
If Mozart were with us today, he'd play a Fireglo 4001C64! ~~~*~~~ Beethoven, on the other hand, would play a Matte Jetglo 4001C64S!
