I have one of the Duo-Jets that's the '57 reissue with the reliced binding and inlays...it's got Dynasonics, rocking bar bridge, everything that makes for George's guitar without the dents and other aspects. I'd guess that they'll reissue it, or a similar one, once this one run its course.

Voltage has a '54 (first year) for less and a '58 for even less. Authentic dings included!

I played a Duo Jet similar to the one Matt owns back at Fuller's Vintage Guitars in Houston in April 2010. This guitar was absolutely awesome. Played great and was a perfect match with a Fender amp. One of the sales clerks said to me, "They might be discontinuing this guitar soon." I sa'id, "There's a Rock Band controller modeled after this guitar, if they were to discontinue it, they'd better have a d@mn good reason!"

Incredibly lame. Fender has done such a great job with Gretsch, but I don't get the "Relic" thing. Never did, never will.

Could be worse. It could be like Gibson, who is charging 15,000 for thier Eric Clapton signature Les Paul. Oh, and if you want it signed, its going to cost you 30,000.
Here's the kicker though. That guitar was stolen years and years ago, so the only thing Gibson had to go on to replicate it was old pictures and EC's 'memories' about the guitar.

I spoke with someone from Gretsch at NAMM; my understanding is that this is exactly what they're going to do.

I guess they figure that there are enough rich rocker wannabee dummies out there to make it worthwhile..... and unfortunately they're probably right.

I want to put some mount rings around the pickups for appearance sake. I bought "Mini Humbucker Mounting Rings" from Guitar Parts USA. They are metal and only 1/16th thick....

http://www.guitarpartsusa.com/item--Gui ... k--PROD327
Guitar pickups, Mini Humbucker Mounting Ring, black.
The inside dimension is 1.140" X 2.714".
The outside dimension is 1.520" X 3.425".
They are .065" thick.

perfect if they fit but they are ever so slightly too small.

Does anyone know a mount ring for the pickups on a Gretsch G5235T Electromatic Pro Jet?
