Thanks Jonathan, I was hoping to project a true enough double bass sound to the audience.

When I'd used the mute on the 4001FL, I'd also played with my thumb.

Well, for my last show I wanted a fretted instrument. With three people singing I just didn't want there to be any uncertainty about intonation, at any point during the night. Plus, a few of the newer parts I've been given to sing are a bit challenging. So yeah... the 2007 odd bird, with its maple headstock wings, made it back out. My old flame, maybe my new one as well. I got tons of "Awesome Geddy Lee guitar, man!"-esque comments immediately following the show. (Don't worry, I played it as a bass... :lol: )

recording today at Wellspring sound in Acton, Ma. with Wide Open Spaces for our debut CD, hopefully this summer.

Bought my Rick right out of high school in 1973 and was the first black rickenbacker bass in Cleveland Ohio. Thanks
