And it sounded great! Especially the fretless with the mute on!rickenbrother wrote:This was another gig where they only mic'ed my cabinet and took no direct signal.

Thanks Jonathan, I was hoping to project a true enough double bass sound to the audience.

When I'd used the mute on the 4001FL, I'd also played with my thumb.

Cool pics! I still love that Burg...

I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...
Re: Post of picture of you PLAYING your ric
Try a pick with the mute.

Re: Post of picture of you PLAYING your ric
Well, for my last show I wanted a fretted instrument. With three people singing I just didn't want there to be any uncertainty about intonation, at any point during the night. Plus, a few of the newer parts I've been given to sing are a bit challenging. So yeah... the 2007 odd bird, with its maple headstock wings, made it back out. My old flame, maybe my new one as well. I got tons of "Awesome Geddy Lee guitar, man!"-esque comments immediately following the show. (Don't worry, I played it as a bass...

Bought my Rick right out of high school in 1973 and was the first black rickenbacker bass in Cleveland Ohio. Thanks
