Do you mean was the fingerboard stripped? No I don't believe so, I think I would have remembered.godber wrote:Nice pics. Love the Fireglo. It's a shame that the CS pickguard is wider than the original, so a true replacement won't cover the extra screw holes.

Thanks for the feedback here it's very helpful.
I think we agree it's a players bass, I've always thought it sounded fabulous as I've never had an original to really compare it against! I jus not played it enough over the last ten years and it's a crying shame for it to sit in a case when it could be making a noise.
Would you recommend trying to restore it as close to original spec as possible or let it go as is?

The fretboard looks a bit darker than Ric fretboards usually have . It looks like the lacquer has been removed?
Looking to the bridge saddles it looks like the action can't set much lower than this. Is this correct? How high/low is the action at the moment?
