Thx! Haven't gigged with it yet but the variety of tones is amazing. Can't wait to crank it up in a big venue.
That embedding is not working, Stanley, can you just put the hyperlink in so I can go to it?

I did a search of this forum and could find no reference anywhere that RIC actually "hand profiles" their necks. I'm pretty sure most of the shaping is done with a CNC machine with final sanding by hand, but I don't think that could be considered "profiling" since the objective here is to make the neck smooth, not shape it in any particular way.

There is a good deal of sanding to smooth the neck and prep it for finish AFTER the CNC process, so that may account for it. However, there is no intention to further profile the neck once it is off the machine like Dane states.

I dunno what that was on my reply, but I put no hyperlinks in. I'm guessing it's an ad.

Interesting! We have never had such an "ad" appear before in any post that I recall.

It's not an ad, simply the scplaylist option that might have been clicked by accident! :D

"Brand new" and made in February 2010. The neck is wider than most of my other Rick basses. Do the 2011's have thinner necks?
I actually bought a Mid-Blue in the very first MF sale. There was nothing wrong with it except I didn't like the neck at all. I'm used to my Fender P and J's really thin and narrow necks. I also remember my 1976 4001 had a much smaller neck than the 2010 Mid. The Mid felt very thick and chunky. I returned it. Then some people were saying late 2010 and 2011 had smaller necks so I took a chance they were, and it was thinner. Same width at the nut, but thinner. I like the MG's neck a lot.
