NICE! I thought about jumping at this one as a restoration but was scared off by the headstock crack. It looked knarly Let us know how bad it is when you get it in your hands, OK?

Going dark, I see!
That headstock crack is no problem at all, at least for those of us who know better.

Congrats Chris, I'm anticipating this project. Where'd I put that popcorn......
Re: Hehe.....it's on its way....
I should have the bass , in hand, this Friday .... the parts are out of my hands , though .... contingent upon the sale of another instrument .... picture dominoes falling, if you will .....
Re: Hehe.....it's on its way....
....got the bass today...with no surprises.
I went over that neck repair with a fine-tooth comb and it looks like a good, professional repair. I tried to snap it using my kung-fu grip to no avail...
.... so I'm not worried about that. I removed the broken truss rods quite easily but noticed that the plate is friggin imbedded into the wood pretty deeply. There is a noticeable bow at the first couple frets , as well .... hopefully the new trussrods will correct this *fingers crossed*
I have all the parts I need on the way, except for the trc ... still pondering on this....

This plate popped right out with little effort:
