However, I don't know if you have any way to tell Dhani or not, but George did not use it on "Words of Love", that was his Gretsch Tennessean. He did, however, use it on "You Can't Do That", "If I Fell", "Happy Just to Dance With You", "Can't Buy Me Love" and "I Need You", that are not mentioned.

Dhani knows best, and I'm not questioning him at all. It's like saying to Mike Bloomfield that Bob Dylan played no guitar on "Like a Rolling Stone".

It's obvious to me. The brightness of the reflection off the face of the guitar is the same as the brightness off the wood inside the hole. If you look at the bottom curve of the slash, you can see the curve continuing, but it's very faint.

It's amazing how common this "Rickenbacker mis-shapen slash hole syndrome" is at the moment.

Thanks soooo much for the fantastic Rocky photos. Your photos reveal what I always suspected were the true colors.

There is a small Rocky photo in a guitar magazine from the 1980s and that is the only one that represents the true bubble gum pinkish color that is very much on that guitar (under Be Bop A Lula, two circles on pickguard, bridge pickup...). Most Rocky replicas wrongly go with red instead of this pink. Your photos clearly show there isn't much red on the guitar, it is mostly that pink.

Your Rocky photos also made me rest a bit easier. When I painted my Rocky I went with that old photo from the guitar magazine as a guide. It really was the best source for Rocky coloring...until now. Yeah, my pink may be a little too bubble gum, but at least I know I am in the right field. (I still can't tell for certain if the color under the bridge is that pink or red. Your photo is making me lean towards red. That would be easy for me to fix.)

Thanks again for your wonderful photos. They are the new standard in George guitar photos -- thee source for any info one might need. I am sure they are helping lots of guitar nuts.

Are there many more out there ? Or are they still being cloned?

Not sure about a trapeze. A period-correct trapeze is pretty rare. I think I know who you're talking about, Greg.
