Thanks! I found it at the 2010 NAMM show, where I first met Martin. He showed me some really nice basses with active electronics in them, but I prefer passive electronics; I asked him if he had anything passive and he pulled this bass out from behind his demo amp. This was on the first morning of the show, Thursday. By Friday afternoon I gave him a deposit for the bass! Martin was going to ship the bass to me, but I found out on Saturday that Jonathan Herrera, from Bass Player magazine, saw it and wanted to do a review on the bass, and a fretted one of Martin's, so I had to wait to get the bass from BP after they did their review, which is in the June 2010 issue. Needless to say, I didn't mind the wait as I have a bass that was both at NAMM and reviewed in BP.woodsgirl wrote:That is a gorgeous bass.
The top is Spruce with a walnut back, maple neck, and superb Harvey Citron pickups.
Here is a similar photo of a fretted bass Martin built for me this past Winter.
