Just because the strings are flatwound does not necessarily mean they are higher in tension. It all depends on the particular string set, how they are made, what gauge, they are, type of core wire, etc.rickenbottom wrote:...I know u guys talk a lot about string tension but if I put flats on. Apparently they are higher tension so will I have to make any adjustments?? I,m not sure if I'm in the right section of this forum to ask so sorry if I'm not.
rickenbottom wrote:Thanks I really appreciate the advice. Funny I have Rotosounds on my 4003 Jetglo and my 62 reissue jazz bass so I think that would be a good addition to put flats on the Fireglo. Hate to be a pain but last thing and I know u guys talk a lot about string tension but if I put flats on. Apparently they are higher tension so will I have to make any adjustments?? I,m not sure if I'm in the right section of this forum to ask so sorry if I'm not.
