Wildberry wrote:Jeff, I get what you mean - this model is simply showing what a lot of guitars hide (or at least mask) under lacquer. Table I took the pictures on is oiled oak... I guess I like oiled wood look!

The guitar reminds of a chopping board and weighs as much! The tone pot only turns 70 degrees = Duesenberg Speedpod. I think it is killing a lot of volume on the bass setting though. Both knobs work easily with your pink while playing!
I like the oiled look, too, I did so on a '72 Jazz Bass back in the early '80s; it was a major PITA to remove the Fullerplast! The sunburst came off pretty easy but the under coat was really tough. But once I did get it all off the tung oil went on nice and easy and the bass bass still looks nice. A friend of mine has it now, with a Rick hi-gain pickup in the neck position.

I like fast acting volume controls, makes it possible to do Keaggy style volume swells with ease. 8)

It's a way of playing I'm not familiar with at all, but that's what I wanted, a guitar that's different so I'll do something different than what I've been doing!

This one show a more aggressive side of Phil. I first saw him in '71, he pretty much ruined me on becoming a better guitarist!

Nice videos! I'm happy if I play decently!

On the heel: if I move my finger over it it feels like one piece, you just don't feel the transition - one can see it, one doesn't feel it.

That's good to hear; I just wish there was a Duesenberg dealer near me to try one.

These Doozeys are great guitars, I must say. Retail price is a bit high, imo. I've got a Duesenberg case coming my way to properly transport and store it (not that it needs storing, as I pick it up every evening - it's small enough that I can play it in my seat!)

Just watched the latest episode of "Daryl's Place" ( great series) with Joe Walsh guesting, and featuring Joe playing a beautiful Dusenberg guitar, which sounded fantastic. I had looked over the website, but found the prices daunting...

He has a Duesenberg Starplayer TV, I believe? They're really good guitars, although none come as standard with case here in Europe it seems... totally weird at that price level if you ask me.

I've got the chance to try out the Dragster a bit now. I like most of it. The speed tone pot totally turned down only works well if you put your amp on 11 - higher gain plains well, clean it sounds way to muddy and dampened to be usefull, imo.

I got my replacement case today... now, this one does fit as it should. I guess the other one was wrongly labelled.

Duesenberg uses GWW cases, made in Costa Rica

Can the topic title be moved to classifieds whereever it fits and rebranded "FS: Duesenberg Dragster DC Oil & Wax"?
