Jet Glo Grammy Sighting

Post by rickyfricky »

The bass player in The Lumineers was sportin' a Jet Glo!!! 8)

From what I glimpsed, looked to be:

Dot board (I think)
Black pickguard
White TRC

Anyone else catch it?

Thanks Woody! My guess is an "S": did not see a binding.

I recommend keeping it on "PLAY" for The Lumineers & Jack White.

Some artists are still selling the steak and NOT just the sizzle . . .

The Beach Boys did win a Grammy for best historical album for the SMiLE box set, so that's encouraging.

That said, I read the news this morning rather watching the show!

Now they're playing the Grammys? I really should have paid more attention when I opened for/with those guys (they weren't the headliners)! It was just under a couple years ago. I don't even remember a bassist at that show. I guess the allure of a prepaid bar tab is just too great sometimes.

No, not an S model. A 4003 Jetglo with white-outlined black pickguard (wonder where he got that idea? 8) ). They were on SNL a few weeks ago:

Thanks Paul! One and the same -- I guess I missed the shark tooth inlay last night. :(

And the binding . . .

I would swap the white TRC for black, to match the pickguard.

I'm from Colorado; I have played with these people several times at a few venues, one of which is a venue/BBQ/bowling-alley located 7 blocks from my house in November of 2010.

I'll reserve my thoughts on The Lumineers and The Grammy's for another time, but this did pop up on the local Craigslist Missed Connections that evening: http://denver.craigslist.org/mis/3608820138.html

Funny stuff. Ah, the trappings of fame.

Wow!

That could explain the replacement pickguard . . . :o

Oh, I'm certain that the fact it appeared the very night The Lumineers were featured live on the Grammy awards show indicates its level of authenticity.

Same here; they totally opened the whole thing when we played with them. I'm not sure you were missing anything special back then (or now, for that matter), that they sounded like anything which would rocket so quickly to the top, or that being featured on The Grammys necessarily means a band was/is worthy of attention. However, good for them; it's nice to have locals get some recognition, and all that stuff.

They added a bass player in 2012, as they were just a three-piece for the majority of their life.

Yep, it's literally a 15-minute walk.

From the Larimer Lounge and Moe's Barbecue to ... The Grammys. I never would have guessed.
