In order to ensure a sellout of the book, I hereby reveal that it was actually penned by J. K. Rowling.

Paul's book got written up by Bass Player!... bit of a pleasant shock to me as they almost went out of their way to ignore Rics in the past. The write-up is light but clearly favorable.

I don't expect plaudits. John has already stated that he will not carry the book in the Boutique as he has issues with the publisher.
Indeed, I have not yet seen the finished product. What I did see during fact check was excellent, well presented, concise information.

The fact that we don't think much of the publisher's business practices is no reflection on Paul's great work.

I still wish for a book, not only about basses but also guitars, similar to Jim Elyea's or Brian Kehew's or Rittor Publishing that has more tech spec, but that would be a very significant project.

While it is nice to see mention of the book on various websites, many of these will read the same. The publisher utilizes a PR firm who sends out a canned press release. And that's it. I was really hoping some mag would do an actual review of the book, but it's likely too early for that.

Press release or not, the BP article was a great piece that will wet the mouths of many musicians for the book. 8)

Regarding digital editions: I presumed that digital editions were automatic these days, but not so. Turns out the publisher is still not settled on a system for electronically publishing graphic-heavy books such as mine. My contract with them covers my compensation for digital-book sales, but that doesn't mean that they will happen any time soon, apparently. For right now, paper is the only medium. :(
