Anybody have a suggestion on how to bypass the cap on a 4001 without breaking the original solder joints? I want to keep my '73 as close to original as possible but I also want to see what it sounds like without the cap in the treble pickup. Any ideas?

Jeff,
I just did it and let me tell 'ya, what a difference! It feels like I have a new bass.
I went to the local radio shack and got some micro gator clips and made me a little jumper wire to go on either side of the cap. Works great, didn't mess with the solder joints and can be reversed in an instant.
