New member - 4001 bass

Post by Cro Magnon »

Hi everyone
I've just joined rickresource & wanted to say hello.
I'm based in Melbourne, Australia and I'm the proud owner of a '78 Azureglo 4001.
I've been playing bass off and on (mostly off) since the late '70s but this is my first Ric.
To say that I am loving it would be the understatement of the century.
I look forward to learning more about Rics from the obviously very knowledgeable (if possibly slightly biased?) community on this forum and hope I can also contribute in some way.
If anyone can help locate a '78 or thereabouts Ric hard case with a blue interior I'd love to hear from you.
With best regards
Sean

Welcome, Sean! 8)

There was a recent (past few days) thread on '70s-'90s cases so look for that, for sure. There are a lot of Aussies here that can point you where you need to go (when you need to go  ).

Hi, Sean! We are glad to have you join us! This really is a great community of Rick enthusiasts. If you want to learn about RIC basses, there is no better place to start than this book:

This will get you up to speed in no time!

Welcome Sean!

If you need a new case, I'd suggest getting a recent moulded one. The old ones have quite a bit of "wriggle" room and mine are gracefully disintegrating..... pretty much like me.
