If it is on the bay it wouldn't have come with a factory warranty, anyway.

That's not true. If it's brand new, and from a RIC dealer, then it has a warranty. I've heard that JH says that dealers aren't supposed to sell on Ebay for some reason, but doing so does not void your warranty.

Okay, I thought it had to be a B&M store type of authorized dealer that also do business on the 'bay. Were these two ebay sellers such, I don't know as I can't seem to find the auctions?

Here's a compare of my Shadow with the Noir received today. 1986 to 2016, 30 years difference:

First impressions, Ron?

My bass delivers to my family's home in NJ today. I won't be able to get there until November! ☹️

Looks like the templates for the body wings were a little worn back in '86

I personally have always preferred that look; I'm not super keen on the new, thinner horns.

i was high on my dealer's list but decided to pass (at $2349). i like it, but i don't love it - the matte and the inlays don't quite work for me... (although i'd love to hear how it sounds with the ebony fingerboard.)

I can never make up my mind if I like the thicker or slimmer horns. The slimmer horns might help take off a little body weight for when playing. Thought I doubt that many if any of these will see real gigging time.
