Got my first Rick
My first Rickenbacker a 2010 Fireglo 360, have to say, this is one of the most beautiful and easy to play instruments ive ever tried. I think im in love lol. Does this put me in the club? Yes, it was used, but as you can see by the pictures, it was lovingly played by a person who is more of a Fender player and kept it a closet queen. Her loss is my gain as I sold an Elite Fender Tele and Taylor 214 and could not be happier.

You've made a great decision. Looks nice.
Now get a capo on that guitar. Just place the capo anywhere and start playing. Then move the capo and start playing again. It's odd, but a capo on a Rickenbacker really unlocks some wonderful tones. Can't explain why, but it just does.

Probably because the nuts are almost always cut too high. Hopefully the previous owner got that ironed out already. Cool guitar. I hope you like it.
Re: Got my first Rick
Congratulations on your first Rickenbacker, but be careful. Soon you’ll be wanting another. And another, and another, etc. Enjoy!

Re: Got my first Rick
Thank you! I am totally shocked, as a former fender/gibson guy, i wanted to own a Rick for years, so far, it has far exceeded my expectations. Thank you to you and Crisp, maybe a Capo does open it up, i could definitely try soon as i get a good one.Tommy wrote: ↑Mon Jun 06, 2022 5:50 pm You've made a great decision. Looks nice.

Re: Got my first Rick
I have some bad news for you...you need another guitar.
You have:
Fender - check
Gibson - check
Rickenbacker - check
You need a Gretsch. Fender, Gibson, Rickenbacker, and Gretsch. Those four brands really provide a perfect palette to create any tones you want.

Beautiful guitar, congrats!

Re: Got my first Rick
I have never tried a Gretsch, but always admired the Falcons and my favorite punk band the Cramps, their guitarist Poison ivy played a 6120 i believe a 58 or 59 model? Now, if i only had half of her skill, maybe i could be a rockabilly screamer too.Tommy wrote: ↑Wed Jun 08, 2022 12:03 pmI have some bad news for you...you need another guitar.

Re: Got my first Rick
You know we all joke around about that -- once you buy one Ric, a second and a third are not far behind -- but I wonder if stats/numbers really prove that to be true. Is Rickenbacker the brand that leads the league in recidivism?8mileshigher wrote: ↑Fri Jun 10, 2022 12:51 am I'm waiting for your confirmation of getting that second Rickenbacker .... then its downhill from there !
