Is that 4001, 4th from the left, missing it's pickup surround?
It's missing more than just the surround; the pickup is hanging down out of the cavity!
For clarification, here's a close-up of that 1973 4001 FG:

A previous owner had removed the original bridge pickup, filled the rout, and added a different pickup mounted at an angle.

I had borrowed a horseshoe surround from Ilan and found that it would have covered the modified area, so I had planned on restoring it with a RI Horseshoe ... but then it was one of the ones that got stolen. :(

OK, so there was one other bass built alongside of Geddy's new beastie, another one and only.

Here are the details of my new 4003 SPC MID:
- Vintage Toaster, 1/2" away from neck
- Horseshoe bridge pickup
- 2 Volume knobs / mono
- Full-width mica fret inlays
- New extra sparkly Midnight Blue
- Sparkly Gold TRC & pickguard
- Oven knobs
- Schaller bridge

Sweet! 8)

For those who may not be aware of it, I sold the RM 3261 in my Fireglos picture to Getty! 8)
