Ah, an amp connoisseur.

Hint: if you don't know how to spell a word just put it in google: conisuer, it'll say do you mean connoisseur ?

Dale, Funny you should mention that...I did plug it into the Ampeg a little bit ago and was telling my wife how sweet it sounded!

That's one insanely beautiful late '60s 4001, Ron. I wish the 21 fret 4001 I'll be checking out tomorrow evening is half as beautiful. Enjoy!

Bob: I will oftenly use Google to find the correct spelling since my english isn't near perfect being french.
The correct spelling is actually "connaisseur", coming from the verb "connaître".

Anyways I just want to say that bass is "freakin' sweet" as Peter Griffin would say...

Patrick that is what google came up with, I think the word has been "americanized" I struggle with Spanish and obviously you are doing much better with English than I am with Spanish.

Ron, That's a truly beautiful 4001. God bless and enjoy! One question. I tried to post a pic of my bass last night, and it keeps saying the pic is too large. Can anyone tell me how to shrink this picture?

Superb, I do love the older FG finishes. Like on my '73 4001.

That is truely a bee-u-tiful bass. Back to the original thought....I purchased my 4003 specifically because it didn't look like the standard P or J bass. I still remember the "new" smell when I opened the case for the first time. And even when I plugged into my small Peavey practice amp, the sound was an immediate improvement over what I had been playing before. I still occassionally pick up my other basses (a Peavey Fury and Washburn 5 string) just to reminice, but then I am usually disappointed in the sound produced and quickly switch back. Ric basses are really one-of-kind and usually garner more attention at gigs than any other instrument used in the band.
