That is truely a bee-u-tiful bass. Back to the original thought....I purchased my 4003 specifically because it didn't look like the standard P or J bass. I still remember the "new" smell when I opened the case for the first time. And even when I plugged into my small Peavey practice amp, the sound was an immediate improvement over what I had been playing before. I still occassionally pick up my other basses (a Peavey Fury and Washburn 5 string) just to reminice, but then I am usually disappointed in the sound produced and quickly switch back. Ric basses are really one-of-kind and usually garner more attention at gigs than any other instrument used in the band.
