Was a 'real' one of these ever made?

That is Chris Squire. The instrument is his custom tripleneck that I think was originally made by Wal. I could be wrong on that though. Guys, help me out. I think the current version is an exact copy that was made for him in Japan. The original has become wall art (no pun intended) in a Hard Rock Cafe somewhere.
