I have the bass stripped for it's bikini waxing. Let's have some fun. What year is it?

Early '75? It has Grovers, skunk stripe, 1" spacing, deep cresting wave.

I'm gonna say early 80's. Wavy Grovers made their way onto a few 4001's then. I think this is one of them.

The 1 inch spacing and the neck pickup wire channel not being forstner cut are my clues.

I don't know if I would date it, but I would certainly take it out for a few drinks and get to know it better. :D

It is not a '75. The neck pickup route is all wrong for that. The truss rod spacing puts it at the earliest a late '76. I would guess '77 to '80. That range is nearly indistinguishable.

'75s can take either 1/2" or 1" guards.

Yup - I was also trying to account for the Grovers, forgetting there were stragglers into the early 80s.
