Welcome to the Penny Lane Guestbook. In a "Roundabout" way you will add to the growing body of Rickenbacker information by taking the time to share your thoughts. Sorry, I must go now and "shave another customer."

Comments: Whoa, I must've been off the site too long! Thanks to John W. & Pete McC...where would we MerseyBeat Rick-o-freaks be without youse guys??? Thanks for a forum for those of us who are not from the planet HumBuck2. Still playing the 360V64 and 610 5 nites a week...not bad for us old guys, huh? ...and to the eternal question...Yes, you can play blues and surf on Ricks...in fact, the people demand it! And on a more commercial note...am in search of a short-scale (30") 2PU Rick bass, any model - player, not collector. Plz e-mail if anyone is interested in selling one of these little gems this summer. |

Have none but I would like a bass Rick |
Comments: Am I right in saying that Chris Squire used a Rickenbacker bass for the punchy lines in all the early Yes albums? How great it would be to re-create that sound at home! |

Comments: Cheers!! Just started reading this forum and am happy to find others who are into Rics as I am. My band, UHF, play and record with Rics almost exclusively and I'm considering buying another soon!! The 381 is my main guit ... its got amazing tone and looks like a million dollars ... it was willed to me by a friend who passed away a few years ago. He was only 26 and died of cancer. So that guitar is really special to me!! The main influences for our band is the Who, Kinks, and a band that played Rics occasionally but is rarely mentioned, the Small Faces. Check out our website if you like, we have some songs up there, all recorded with Rics!! We use Ric-O-Sound for all sorts of cool stereo effects, too !! Sincerely, Jordan |

Comments: I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one with a Ric addiction. I looked and listened to my Mom's Beatles' and Byrds' records as a child and always wondered what made those stunning sounds. When I found out John Lennon played a Rickenbacker, I had to have one. I got my first 320 when I was 13 years-old and haven't stopped playing it since. Later I scraped together the cash for a new 325v59 and use it at every gig. Now I have 5 of them and don't see an end in sight. Thanks for a great site. |

Comments: My son Gavin Thorpe and I have visited Penny Lane and had our picture taken at the above sign. A marvellous experience. If you are a Beatles fan you have to go on the Magical Mystery Tour if you visit the swinging city of Liverpool My Ricky 4003 bass is absolute heaven since we met I have discarded all my other 5 basses |

Comments: w/ 2 toggles, 4 Vols. (1 each for main 3 pickups & 1 for acoustic pickup installed under bridge) No presence or tone dials -ie: original 'BYRD' wiring
My Ric-12 was custom-built, run thru the line by F.C.Hall himself.
NO other 12 sounds like a Ric! Especially since a Ric is the only 12 that's strung the RIGHT way! Note: for more info and photo, go to "What Goes On."

Comments: Great site, better than the official Ric site in my opinion.I belong to a Church subscription page called Seance, seems as there's a ton of Rickage amongst our membership.I guess that can blamed upon Church guitarist Marty Willson-Piper.I was frst bitten by McGuinn(who has since autographed my 330)and Fogerty, later Petty and Weller,Petey Buck,Mitch Easter,MWP,loads of fringe guys...Masuak,Fred Sonic Smith...that instrument just does it for me...there's nothing like a Ric!Sound or vision! Here's the URL of that fateful night Jim McGuinn did the deed... http://homestead.juno.com/mapslegends/files/pictures.htm http://www.angelfire.com/celeb/mitcheaster |
