Comments: I want to say thanks for this awesome Rickenbacker page & it's excellent links. I bought my 87 Rick 350 without actually knowing it's model number ... I just saw that it was a full scale version of the 3/4 sized Lennon Rickenbacker. I really wanted the 3/4 325 that Lennon used but it's just to small. Well thanks again because through the help of this page I was able to figure out the exact model & year of my awesome 87 Rickenbacker 350. I loved it from the day I bought it & it sounds better every time I plug in.

Comments: I wanted a Rickenbacker from the first time I could remember Seeing Paul McCartney with his. I purchased this bass in 1980 and used it as my main bass until I retired it from the road in 1998.

Comments: I've just about played as many different brads of guitar as one can name......Ric's are voiced different from all the rest and with the advent of solid-body, humbucking, ie...600 series, Ric's can now compete with the masses and once and for all.....stand head and shoulders above the rest...this makes me very happy :)

Comments: Hi. At last i have found a great page on rick guitars! For me my hero was Johnny Marr. For those of you who are not mad morrissey fans i suggest if you get a chance to hear the smiths because Marr isnt just any player he has had his hands in many things and they were all great in my view!..if you could just listen to the first smiths albums and hear this guy play OH GOD its so nice the first 2 albums are called "the smiths and meat is murder" it really kicks you will be to tapping!. He lays down and inter- weaves such beautiful stuff! Also if you are a Marr fan id suggest looking at his offical web site at http://www.jmarr.com/ lots of interesting stuff on there and also things about Noel Gallagher as well who Marr helped and really likes allot! The funny thing about me i guess is i liked rics before i knew what they were..i liked tom petty the beatles hell i even owned a prince and the revolution album "purple rain" and then when i found that all my albums had ric's on them you can imagine how funny it was, but when i got into the smiths that was when i knew! Anyway, any smiths fans with like interest to me ..feel free to give me a "E" and thanks so much for this site its very well done!! Cheers! Damian moss

Comments: Found this amazing piece of machinery in a pawn shop. I honestly don't think the guy knew what he had, 'cos I basically stole it. Immaculate condition, solid state, honkin' big fifteen inside. I use her for keys and synth, those bottom ends just shake the entire room. I can honestly say, that at the majority of our gigs, (pub & bar)with maybe 200 to 250 patrons, I've never had my Ric cranked over 2 1/2 or 3. There is just so much raw power in this unit. I'll never part with her.

Comments: I have been playing Ricks since 1987, when I was 17 and learned to play guitar on my dad's '58 345. My favourite bands are the Byrds & the Beatles, and I play in a folk- rock/pop band in San Antonio called Time and Again. This summer I am going to order a new Mapleglo 370 with vintage pickups, so I will have a McGuinn guitar to complement my Lennon guitar. My goal is to eventually have a Rickenbacker for every day of the week, so I am about halfway thru the week so far! Is it just me, or do the knobs on the new Carl Wilson model not look like the proper ones for the New Style 360's from that period?

Comments: Greetings and Salutations: I'm back with four new Ricks that I have just added to my arsonel of axes. Having quite a large inventory consisting of Fenders, PRS's, Ovations, Yahamas, Gibsons, and a few Ibenez's, Rickenbackers are slowly gaining prominence in my collection. Like I mentioned in my last message, Ricks are like potato chips...one's just not enough. Let me tell you about the four new ones I just bought in the past few weeks. The first is the 325v59 in Turquoise. What drew me to this guitar was the color. I found it be very striking. Having tested it at Sam Ash Music on West 48th Street in Manhattan, I simply couldn't walk out without this beautiful specimen. So I pulled my credit card and handed it to the clerk. As I was getting ready to walk out to my car, something caught my eye. It was a 4003/S8 bass. Now I already had quite a few basses. But not an 8-string. And if Rickenbacker is putting it out, it's gotta be good. So I tried it. The sound was tremendous, full and vibrant...and lo and behold I walked out with two new Ricks. The store clerk was very grateful for the commission he would recieve. A few week later I went back to Sam Ash. Just to check out some new BOSS delay pedals, I ended up buying the 360/12v64 along with the assorted effects. I bought it simply because George Harrison played one during the Beatles' World Tours. "If I Needed Someone" was all the inspiration I needed to buy this beautiful piece of history. Finally, is the 4003WT in Midnight Blue. I fould it at a music shop in South Jersey while my family and I were visiting my brother and his family in Bayville. Now I already have a 4003, but not in Midnight Blue. I didn't know Rickenbacker even offered this color until I saw it. Like the 325v59, the color was so striking, my resistance just collapsed. I had to buy it. That, and along with a Gibson ES-355 in walnut finish, made my day complete. My family and friends ask me why I have so many guitars, along vast collections of other things. With all the money I spend, on these things, I could've bought a fancy wardrobe or several fancy cars. Why? What for? Who am I out to impress? First of all, clothes don't interest me. They have to be practical, functional and comfortable. That's all. The most elaborate thing I ever wore was my full dress US Army uniform. And was at the tail end of Operation: Desert Storm! That was it. As for cars, my Chevy Van and Dodge Ram Charger 4x4 are practical and reliable. Why spend money on an imported two-door sportster that probably breaks down easily, is heavy on the gas and would probably end up getting stolen out of my drive way? And with my large physique, I would need the Jaws-of-Life to get IN it! So, I collect guitars because it's one my hobbies. Like golfers playing golf, I play guitars. I make music. It's very relaxing. It's enjoyable. And it's hell of a lot cheaper than a shrink!

Ricks You Own: 331 lightshow

Comments: Bought this Rick331 light show at a local music store for $200 in the late 70's. My first Guitar! Through the years I have seen and read a few articals on this guitar. It was made in 1972. I am in some need of help from anyone! problem 1, I do not have the box to make the lights work. Can I get one or have one made? 2. What is the value of this guitar? 3. It is missing(or was it supposed to have?)the springs that go around the bridge adjusting screws? My bridge always goes out of adjustment with playing. 4. My bass pickup is alot louder than my treble pickup(they are adjusted evenly) 5. When I bought the guitar the bridge cover was off. I have the cover but no srews. And last, about a year ago my pickup selector swich quit staying in the treble position. Any help with these problems of info about this guitar would be greatly appreciated. thanx! e mail scuff9@yahoo.com

Comments: I am new to this site. I am such a fan of Rickenbackers. To me, they are like potato chips...one's just enough. I have quite an arsenol of axes. They are all beautiful. The Rickenbackers are no acception. I bought my first Rick in 1980, the 360/12. And I just kept on buying them. My favorite Ricks are my 325V63 because John Lennon had one just like it. And my 4080/12 double neck, for three reasons. One because it reminds me of Geddy Lee (Rush is da BOMB!!), and two, the sound is so tremendous, especially on the bass. And three, it looks totally awesome when I play it on stage. I become the envy of all my friends. Ricks have always been faithful to me throughout the years. And I shall be faithful to Ricks.
