Then only time a saw The Searchers was on the 19th of November 1981 here in Odense. They played in a Nightclub, "Tordenskjold". I have still got the ticket which appears above. I remember I bought the ticket some weeks before. The ticket was not for a seat, just to make sure, that not too many people would enter on the night.
The Searchers (John McNally, Mike Pender, Frank Allen and Billy Adamson) played around midnight. They were not playing so the audience could dance to the music, it was more like a minor concert. I thought then, that the sound was OK, it didn't drown. I also remember (I think it was Frank Allen) asking for requests: "Just tell us which of numbers to play, we can still play them all".
Strange to think back almost 20 years to a time where they already had had their last hit many years before, and that we today still find interest, and actually also want more: My wish for any BBC-sessions, and also other fans looking for the Liberty recordings. So maybe .....
