Re: Beatles use of Bigsby
I believe Rod Taylor from Beatles to a Tee pointed out that "It's only Love" has a guitar line that uses the whammy bar though not sure what guitar it was. It always sounded like a tremelo effect but a tremelo pedal never could quite duplicate that sound.

Re: New George Harrison app for the iPad
The one thing about this app that disappointed me a bit was that the guitar photos don't have that high of a resolution.
Also hope updates with a few more guitars will be coming soon. Overall though I feel it's a really nice app and glad that Dhani released this.

Re: John lennon dvd release
I've had the "John Lennon and the Plastic Ono Band Sweet Toronto" DVD which was released by Pioneer for several years already. It is the DA Pennebaker footage and includes footage of the limo drive to the site. Total runtime 56 minutes. I can't imagine what might be different with this newer release.

New Lennon Ad
Very strange ad that uses a generated robotic voice to sound like Lennon for a Laptop Charity pitch.

Guitars in Pairs
I was recently thinking about how John & Paul acquired the Martin D-28's after I saw the Paul Saltzman India Photos at a gallery. Did Martin Guitars give them to John and Paul? But then why did George not get one? The Beatles Gear book only states the 1st D-28 showed up with John on the Hello ...

Re: Carnival of Light
That would mean it won't come out for eight and a half years.
Whoa! I wasn't doing the math when I responded to that. Sounded good as Pepper was the same time frame as C.O.L. and would have made a nice addition but now I hope that won't be the case.
Not expecting to be blown away by this ...

Re: Carnival of Light
A bonus track on on the 50th Anniv. Sgt. Pepper box set would be a fantastic idea!
I also caught the pending approval from Ringo, Yoko & Olivia... but I don't see why they would object to this piece being released especially if Paul is enthusiastic about it. The question does remain how it would ...

Re: A Beatle’s Haunt, Cafe La Fortuna, to Close Its Doors
Yea, that's really sad. I feel fortunate enough to have been able to visit La Fortuna and have nice memories and pictures of the place. I recall I was almost the only customer in there at the time and can imagine they weren't pulling in a lot of money.

Re: The Maharishi is dead
Was interesting to read that Maharishi had become unhappy with the Beatles drug use. Possible they were smoking then at the retreat?! This article was re-written a bit since its original release and at first it was said that the Maharishi kicked them out for drug use and no mention of the rumored ...

Re: John Lennon's last guitar strap as a Beatle
What was that odd strap John used on his Casino from the '66 US tour 'til the Revolution/Hey Jude music videos? Looks like a standard belt with holes put in for the strap buttons.
I had located that strap after an intensive Internet search and finally located it at a Japanese vendors site (I had ...
