Re: Is there such a thing? Part 2

Im a big fan of the yamaha thr range. Not very fashionable for sure.

But for home use i thin the range of models are great as are the effects.

It nails the ac30 with a bit of reverb. Just the job for some jangle.

Necks....

Ive been playing my new to me ricky 360/6 Solidly for the last month. Not professionally or anything like that. An hour or two after work. Moving to the Rick from my usual fare of Fender and Gibsons didnt feel strange. The 360 neck is narrower, but it didnt feel too strange. but moving the other way...

A 660/12 question

is the limited edition Tom Petty 660/12 any different than the more recent non limited 660/12?

Other than the writing on the pick guard and the certificate in the case I they look like identical spec to me.

Re: How do Hi-Gains.. compare to P90s

My take in this Bäder on a p90 les Paul junior and a 360 Rick is that They are pretty similar. The Rick has more trebble and jangle. I suspect thats more to do with the wookwork than the pups.

Id like to gear a High gain in a junior.

Green day Sounds great on a ric!

Re: Opinions needed: 620 vs 660: which is more versatile?

I can't offer any first hand experience on the 600 models. But from a versatility perspective I was amazed at the versatility of the hi gains in my Ricky 360/6 I always knew they would do the whole jangle piece. what I didnt expect was how well they respond to a bit of gain/crunch. I don't think the...

Re: What was your second ricky?

I'm at 1 ......

I think my second would need to be a 620/6 or a 660/6......maybe even the TP limited edition.

But some serious saving up needs to occur first!

Re: Bent over a barrel in England??

+1 for not buying new.

Follow the lead of mike campbell who got his damn the torpedoes cover ricky for $150, or so the story goes.

New ricky 360 in the uk are £1800 give or take, Nice used ones are £900.
