330's all have a family resemblance to MY ears that is stronger than their individual differences.
And 330's, to me, sound more 'boxy' than 360's... somehow thicker and more woody.
360's ...

I have to agree that the headstock is a problem (at least for me).
It looks a bit like wearing an obvious Beatle wig.

The Walkmen

Anyone see them on Letterman?
I really liked them. And especially the guitar sound.. which looked like a Jetglo Capri with a gold pickguard and trapeze tailpiece.
Anyone know if it really is, or some sort of reissue?

i cannot IMAGINE not being able to tell the difference in sound.
To me, the original toasters or the scatterwound reissues sound SO much clearer, bigger and BETTER.
The difference in level is easily compensated for at the amp, but the sound difference is great.
On the other hand, the "vintage ...

It may BE.
I tend to think the ones with toaster and horsehoe DO sound much better... so it may actually improve the bass.
But it's still not really forthcoming, know what i mean?
He could at least acknowledge it's been modded.

What happened was: i was producing a record with a band and the bass player came in with his brand new Squire Rickenbacker.
i was, to say the least, sceptical, but it actually sounded REALLY good and then i picked it up to play it and it also FELT really good.
So i looked around for one and found ...

Yes i didn't get much camera time, but the LAST time i played Letterman (playing a 360-12v64) i got LOTS of time, so one cannot complain.
Yes, it's a 4001CS which was triggering a Roland V-Bass (although i doubt you could see the ROland pick-up taped on between the bridge and the horsehoe pick-up ...

What was last year of the horseshoe pick-up?

I recently saw an add for a 1973 with a Horseshoe.. yet i recently played a 1972 WITHOUT one.
so, what year DID they switch to the later style treble pick-up?

pricey, but i don't think anything beats the Fulltone Choral Flange.
