Alternatively, I think RickySounds is located in the East Midlands close to the M1 motorway. There website is

I think they set up rics but I'm not sure if they are a licenced franchise or not.

When I got my 4003 last year I was getting quite a lot of fret buzz. The thing came to Ireland from the USA so I'm sure the wood expanded/contracted with the change in tempreture/altitude on the plane.

I dropped it into my local Luthier and for 80 Euro he set it up for me and now it plays great.

There appears to be a good amount of wear on the guitar, as one would expect from a 50+ year old instrument. I am a bit worried about the lowish buy it now price.

I love my Ric too but I also have a G&L ASAT and a Lakland Skyline that I am very fond of.

Rics are by far the best looking basses out there though IMO.

Hey Jim. Can you mail me some pics of that 75th Anniversary bass of yours? Would love to see it up close.

You ever gonna play it at a gig or put it in a display case?

Is the following true?

"Since 1949 the logo on the headstock will be “RICKENBACKER” as today, in the previous era the logo was “RICHENBACHER” with the H instead of the K, therefore the guitar can’t have been made after that year."

Genuine Ric on the bay?

Hi. I'm not as familiar with older Rics as most of you. I came across this on e bay and I am just wondering is it genuine? Its not a bass but a 6-string.....

Its defo something that would have to go into a display case (with an alarm) rather than a gigging bass for that kind of money IMO.

I used to own a p-bass also but sold it to fund the purchase of my G&L ASAT. I think G&L's are amazing basses and extremely versatile as they have a great variety of tones available on them.

I now use my Ric 4001 for 50% of my set and switch to the G&L for the second half of the set.
