I strongly believe that guitars are meant to be played. They shouldn't be treated solely as museum pieces. This should apply to "vintage" instruments as well.
If it's no longer played, why not sell it and use the funds to purchase that next "favorite, go-to" guitar.

Overseas shipping when selling a guitar
There are forumites overseas that may be interested in purchasing a guitar through a private sale. I live in the USA and may have the opportunity to sell a Rickenbacker guitar to someone residing in Europe. Is there an increased risk in shipping overseas as far as damage and/or a guitar getting lost...

Re: NAMM 2013
I'm still wishing for a brand spanking new 360/12 (21-frets) with the wider 660 neck. Should I also request that it be double-bound like a V64 or V63 ? Oh well, dream on.

TennRose 6119 '62 HT vs FT pups
Which pups do you prefer and why? I have the HiLo Trons and love their clarity. I suspect that the FilterTrons provide more punch and output. Comments on which pups you prefer would be appreciated.

Re: Rickenbacker toaster availability
Jeffrey,
Thanks for the clarification regarding bass vs guitar toasters. I was not aware of the difference in the pickup height adjustment screws.

Re: Rickenbacker toaster availability
For those who are interested, bass toaster pickups are identical to guitar toasters except that the corner screws on the bass toasters are Phillips head instead of standard heads. You can verify this by contacting Chris Clayton at Pick of the Ricks. So, if you're in a hurry, check if bass toasters a...

Ruby color variation on some 2012 Ricks
My local music shop has 2 new Ruby-finished Ricks. One is a darker red, and one is a lighter-shaded red, which looks similar to the "old" ruby of the 80's. I prefer the lighter one.

Plexiglass TRC questions
Do six-string vintage style plexiglas TRC 's from the 1960's vary in size/shape from model to model or does "one-fit-all" apply? Are the three screw holes in the same place for every Rick model. Will a 400 or 600 series plexiglas TRC fit a 300 series Rick, specifically a 365 from 1968 ?

Custom color question
Is a Mapleglo finish guitar the best candidate for a custom paint job if one desires an opaque, non-metallic, non-"burst", non-transparent color such as turquoise or red?

Re: Don't give up on your RICK 12's narrow neck width
For those interested, my luthier charged me $200 for a custom fabricated bone nut (a labor intensive process) and an excellent set-up (truss rod adjustment and intonation tweaking). I think this is a very fair price and an excellent investment for your beloved Rick 12's. Incidently, I supplied to my...

Don't give up on your RICK 12's narrow neck width
This is a recommendation to anyone who cannot enjoy playing their Rick 330, 360 or 620 12 strings because of crowded string pairs. I encourage anyone having trouble fingering chords (especially on the first few frets) to take their guitar to a competent luthier and have a custom bone nut made to sli...

Re: Great RICK reference for production numbers by year, model,
Thanks for the heads up.....I had no idea of the inaccuracies in this reference book.
Are there any accurate sources of production numbers for RICK guitars?
