I don't think you need higher output pickups, just turn up your amp.
Thanks. That's what I do, but the output is so significantly different that it takes a big volume increase.

My '98 330 pickups seem a liitle weak...

....compared to the out put of most of my other guitars i.e. PRS Hollowbody II, Gibson Les Paul PRS 12. Is this common for most Ric pickups? Are there any higher output pickups that maintain the Ric sound? I'm relatively new here so if this has been discussed before please point me in the right ...

What kind of Bridge is on that PRS-12 ?

Re: If possible explain the diff in sound between the 660/12...

How are the pickups selected on that PRS?

If you go to the second picture you can see the 3 way pickup selector switch; plus the tone control is a push pull, which let's you coil split the humbuckers; It's very versatile.

Tom

So it's only one at a time?

Thanks. Loving Rick's doesn't mean you have to stop loving other guitars!

Re: If possible explain the diff in sound between the 660/12...

Dr. Tom,

Do you really hve a PRS 12 string? How does it compare to a Rick?

Yes I do:

I can't give you a direct comparison because I no longer own a Ric 12 String. I used ...

Re: If possible explain the diff in sound between the 660/12...

Nicolas,

Yes, an absolutely perfect reply.Thank you very much. That was much more than I was expecting; but truly the answer I needed.
And I agree with Danotron in that they both sound very Ric and jangly. The 360 does sound a little more mellow than the 660 but if I wasn't A/B'ing them, I'd say ...

and a 330/12. I have owned a 360/12v64 in the past but got rid of it because I couldn't get used to the narrow width at the nut.I just bought a 1998 330 FG and am just loving it . I never considered the 660s but now the idea is starting to grow on me. I'm just so used to a hollowbody Ric sound that ...

Re: Comparison 330 and 360

I have only recently come back into the Ric ownership ranks after having owned a 360, a 360/12v64 and a 360WB in the past. I chose to buy a 330FG this time around because I didn't bond with the 360 the last time. I have definitely bonded with the 330 this time and am just loving it. I'm enjoying the ...

Re: My Fingers Are So Sore....

To Dr. Tom:

Would like to hear the details of your PRS 12 string as they are pretty rare. How do you like yours? Would you recommend it to us Rick Nuts?

Janglyman,

I don't want to say anything that would be construed as heresy here as I have owned a 360/12V64 which I just loved but found hard ...
