Richmond, VA - The Velvet Marias Live!

I thought I would plug my band's gig here. Come hear the magic of a 4004Cii TG with chrome hardware played through a Mesa Boogie M6 Carbine combo. I'm in charge of the band's e-mail blast, so here we go...... Good day, friends, and welcome to the latest dispatch from Velvet Marias World Headquarters...

Davey Faragher is the bassist for The Imposters. While he's no slouch, he is absolutely no Bruce Thomas.

Re: First Ric - 1978 3001 vs. 2008 4003

Welcome to the forum.

Also, keep in mind that the 3001 is heavier than the 4003. I don't know if that's an issue or not , but something to keep in mind. Otherwise, I echo everyone else. The 4003 will provide much more flexibility than the 3001.

Re: Questions for 4004 owners

My '05 Cii TG has an unfinished board.

My '08 L BBR has a finished board.

Their pickup placements are slightly different.

Re: The World's Very Best Bassists

Don't forget Charles Mingus. Easily the most important jazz bassist/composer.

And for modern jazz/fusion: Christian McBride. In my opinion, a much more versatile player than Clarke, Miller or Wooten.

Well, this has been quite the interesting thread. Thanks everyone, once again, for your thoughts. I have decided on a course of action and I am currently pursuing it. It is quite apparent that I should leave it at that. Thanks.

Re: FINALLY!! 4004L BBR - Your thoughts, please

Hey everybody, thanks so much for taking the time to comment. I appreciate it very much. When you wait so long, you just want the bass to be as perfect as it was in your [many] daydreams. And but for the route, it is. It is especially noticeable when the L is side by side with my 2004 Cii. The route...

FINALLY!! 4004L BBR - Your thoughts, please

After three plus years, it's finally here. It's beautiful. But my eye continues to be drawn to the routes for the bridge pickup. I'd be curious to hear everyone's thoughts. Am I being too picky? As for the sound, my early impressions are that it doesn't seem to be as versatile as my 4004Cii. But we'...

Re: 1,000 days

My instrument was ordered in January 2005. At some point, waiting nearly four years for an instrument during which time there have been brief runs of production on the 4004L becomes a customer service issue.

I have yet to be offended by anything posted on a forum. Oh, you're just not trying hard enough, Brian. I'm offended by the fact you've neve...

Re: Group Therapy for Ric Owners-In-Waiting

My dealer ordered my 4004L BBR in January 2005. I have heard of a possible November delivery date. But I don't believe it.
