I am a real stickler for being "in tune".
My Ric 4001c64s stays in tune up and down the neck.
My Hofner '62 re-issue sounds great, but does not stay in tune.
Many techs have been frustrated trying to get that elusive "in tune" setting...none have truly made it...
But I love playing the Hofner. It ...

There is a demo of Awaiting on you All, somewhere on YouTube that is stripped and really rocks.

Re: Red Rose Speedway Sticker?
My focus is entirely for me.
The self stickies seem to be harmful to the finish.
How about a thin mylar or inert material?
Of course it wouldn't wrap the edges, but from several feet I bet it would look great!

Ahh
Thought this was a fab Idea.
Anybody come up with something instead of painting it?

Re: Red Rose Speedway Sticker?
Along the same lines-Colorform or the stickers that the 10 minute oil change places use.
Think of a sheet of this material-clear.
Printed on it the MMT paint job for the Ric 4001s.
The "sticker" does no harm and you get a detail of the Ric painted or even "Rocky" Georges painted Strat.
Any one out ...

Re: I'm in top 5 mood... :Paul McCartney
This is a tough one. Four factors come into play.
1. Where and what was I doing when the song came out and I started listening to it?
2. Is it a song I like to sing or Play on Bass or Guitar?
3. Is it a song with meaning to me?
Is it a song I would like to track in my studio?
Maybe I'm Amazed

Re: What music/other basses do you play?
I am into most music PRE-1990 music.
I love the Real stuff-no midis or triggered riffs for me.
I love English, Beatles, Stones, Who etc.
Steely Dan, Chicago, America etc.
In my current Bass Lineup:
Gibson Money Bass
Hofner 63 Reissue
Ric 4001v63
Ric 4001c64s
Wal 5 String

Re: McCartney: Blessing the Beatles never Re-Formed
Ever look at an old girlfriend?
20 years later?
I'ts best to keep the past in the past.
Paul wanted to get back with the Beatles as soon as he left.
But after Linda kicked his *** about drinking his life away-he snapped out of it and gave us Wings.
I liked it-others didn't.
Hindsight is always 20-20 ...

Re: Protecting a Ric Bass finish-FROM A STAND
Here is the finished product.
It is Red Oak with Cork at the neck rest (heat glued).
The safety locks are brown strap leather.
I already have a few ideas for changes.
Pictured with the stand are my:
Hofner V62
Ric 4001v64
Ric 4001c64s
Wal 5 string PMC
Les Paul Delux-signed by Les

Re: Protecting a Ric Bass finish-FROM A STAND
Thanks for the feedback!
I ended up using Brown Felt. I made sure I sanded the sharp edges off the wood prior to installing the felt.
Word of caution to latex users. This is very bad for a finish if it is left for a prolonged period.
That's what caused my stain on the back of my '92 v4001 natural.

Protecting a Ric Bass finish-FROM A STAND
I have just completed a "do-it-yourself" multiple guitar stand.
It is made from red oak.
My desire is to stain it and use it.
I like to keep a few guitars out of the case-as I play them all the time-if they are out.
What can I use on the parts that the guitars come in contact with the stand that ...

Re: Any chance for a MMT Painted 4001 in the future?
The most accurate would be the"real" paint job.
However-I do know that there are very thin films that would cling to the body of the bass.
It would be a design on a PC/Apple then to a film cutter.
For the budget minded MMT player-this may be the thing.
It can also be used to prodce the "Bassman ...

Re: New John Lennon TV ad
It is funny how this can be so horrible, but then you see Yoko on the "All Together Now" Cirque program saying "John would have wanted this or that". She is showing her true colors. Yoko was the ultimate reality wife. She would fit in with all the other nuts who get married to get a piece (Heather ...

Where can I download "World without Love" the Beatles version?
I know it has to be out there.
At least I think it might!
