Re: Jet

Great song! Kicks *** from the get go. Nice touch this tour with rolling it into the back of Venus & Mars / Rock Show. Wished he'd have gone a bit longer with Rock Show, that song has always got me going.

Re: Macca in Washington, DC

Took my wife & son. Saw it, loved it, got to go see him again. 1st Level, 40 yard line, great seats. What a show!!!! Macca & band were kickin *** all night. Paul is absolutely amazing, his voice was in brilliant form & as strong as I've heard him in years. Just completely blown away by h...

Re: Groovy Beatles pictures

I don't think that '79-'80's photo is real. The dead give away to me is how much taller John seems to be. Macca does look like he's leaning a bit to his right, but John looks to be a good 4 to 5 inches taller. Based on most historical accounts Lennon was a good few inches shorter than Macca. Maybe J...

Ashley, Sounds like you are very fortunate to have relatives that can gain you access to some of these great musicians. I'm sure it must be a thrill actually being able to carry on a conversation with these greats, much less hanging out with them for a while. You're a lucky one! As far as the L. Kin...

Ashley please tell us more about your encounters with Paul. I'd love to hear about them. Seems like you must know him pretty well based on your comments about his personality. Oh, and just for the record, you were way off base with your comments about how he treated the young boy (L. King's son). I ...

I recorded the show last night hoping it would be a classic interview. However, it fell way short of any meaningful or insightful information thanks to L. King. I've read a couple of posts referring to Paul not engaging in a conversation with a young boy (King's son). If you go back and review that ...

IMO Larry King was awful, his questions were down right juvenile, interrupted answers they would give, no wonder Paul & Rings seemed a bit cheeky. How could King be so misinformed that he would ask Olivia how she felt about the song "Something". I guess practically everyone except King...

Got mine today, really like it! Much more energy to the songs this time. "Only Mamma Knows" is my fave right now. "Mr. Bellamy & House of Wax" are closing in fast though. As far as the bass on "Mama", I read on one of Macca's sites that a lot of the earlier recorded...

So, are you talking about what is called out for the chord notation as well (ie. notation E7, A7, B7, etc.)? It seems to be called out correctly, I always thought Twist & Shout was basically D, G & A7 with G & A7 as standard barre chords. Please explain, sorry for my shameful thickness r...

That's quite a shame then isn't it. Something must have gone wrong with the relationship it seems. Maybe something will get worked out in the future, I hope so, John F. would be great to have endorse Ricks again - JMO.

Sounds like a new series "C"CR model to be considered! As I stated before the concert I watched was excellent. John provided a lot of energy with-in his performance. His band was also very good, the bass player used a MusicMan, the other guitarist played what looked like Gretsch & Fend...

John Fogerty and Rickenbacker guitars

I watched John's HD concert (The Long Road Home) on TV tonight and was blown away at how great he sounded (singing and playing). The only thing that I was disappointed in was that he didn't play his (or any) Rickenbacker. I thought for sure he would pull out his old trusty 325, especially since most...

Saw him in DC last October, he was great! His voice was fantastic, I don't see how he still does it. Just a wonderful show, I'm looking forward to the DVD!

The comments about Yoko and her so-called singing on "Baby Please Don't Go" are right on! It's almost as if you're waiting for John to look over at her and scream SHUT THE F%#@ UP! Man, what a pitiful excuse for adding artistic input to a song.

Just from a general point of view, I have always thought Real Love was much easier to listen to and understand. I realize both Lennon parts were generated from some very poor cassette demo tapes, but to me FAAB does not have the overall vocal clarity & quality (from John) that Real Love has. It ...
