How Does This Sound?

I got my Rickenbacker 330/6 about 5 weeks ago, and have spent the last 5 weeks experimenting with setup, strings, finding the right pickup adjustment, etc...

I think I've setteled on the D'Adderio Chrome 12's (ECG25). They are flat wound, have a nice warm tone, and absolutely no finger squeak. I ...

Re: Stinky case.

I think you guy's should think about what you are spraying these cases with. You have no idea what it could do to the guitars finish.

How To Setup Your Rickenbacker 330/6

This is how I setup my 330/6 incase you would like to give it a try. Please be aware that the measurements I use are "just a starting point" to begin the setup, and you should "tweak the settings to your liking" afterwards.

Also, do this at "your own risk", and "I take no responsability" if you ...

How Do You Like To Set Your High Gains?

I have a 330/6 and I would like to know how other people set their high gain pickups.

Do you set the pole pieces to follow the fret radious, screwed all the way in, or some other way?

Do you set the bridge pickup closer than the neck pickup, neck pickup closer than the bridge, or both the same ...

Re: Guitar Techs & Rick 12 Strings

Is there a reason you can't learn to do the setup yourself?

You hit the nail right on the head.

I just wonder why I don't see more of these around.

Re: My Rickenbacker Experience

The think about acoustics is that nobody has yet to design a pickup system that sounds exactly like the guitar un-plugged.
The closest I have heard was a Rick Turner pickup in an Olson Guitar; I don't recall for sure what amp was used, but I think it was a SWR California Blond. This was at Rick's ...

My Rickenbacker Experience

I've been playing guitar off and on since I was a teenager. I could strum out some chords and I wrote a few songs, but thats about it. I got away from it for quite a few years. In 1983 I had a kid, got married, and joined the army (in that order). I spent 6 years in the army, had two more kids, and ...

Did My 330/6 Come With Pure Nickel Or Nickel Plated Strings?

Sorry for being such a newbe but I can't find any information on what the original Rickenbacker strings are made of.

Are they pure nickel?

Or, are they nickel plated?

Thanks in advance.

Re: My New 330/6

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone.

Over the past 5 years or so I have gotten back into guitar playing. In addition, I started wanting to learn more about guitars. Big mistake!!! The more I learned, the more compulsive I became, and the more I traded one guitar for the other. I couldn't even tell ...

My New 330/6

Never owned a Rickenbacker before, and I just got this a few days ago, and absolutely love this guitar.

Here is a small test clip (please forgive my lack of talent)...
