Re: vox amp for beatle sound

As an owner of a Chinese made AC15 with the stock Wharfdale speakers, I would highy recomend this amp. And it's also plenty loud. It's got the tone you're after. I also had a VR30, nice little amp, but in a totally different class. I gave mine to my son, he loves it. The VR has a pretty warm "tube ...

Re: Got Rick!

I'd like to throw my good wishes to you as well. Beautiful Fireglo, and daughter, and studio, and the Zappa quote is the icing. I used to own a bunch-o-Rics, but wittled ;'em down to only 2, also play a Deluxe P bass, and have a sweet daughter getting married next year. They absolutely grow up fast ...

Re: The perfect distortion pedal!

Just to throw one more option in the mix, after trying, (and buying), approx 14 different dirt pedals, I've settled happily with an EBS Valve Drive. It can be set from very mild gain, all the way to serious grind, and has two distinct voices, as well as a 3 band passive eq. Not cheap, but worth ...

I am also close, (enough) to Garland. It is the city in which a current cartoon is based, (Family Guy?), no... King of the Hill, that's it

Let's hope not, too many of us waiting patiently for so long. And, thanks Joey, it's good to be back.

Re: Ampeg BA 500

I had one, and it is loud. Hooked mine to an SVT18 ext spkr, holy moly, the pure power. However, I sold it off in favor of a V4BH, and some other things. In the end, it seemed to lack any warmth or character. Guess I'm a bit of a tone snob, but yes, they're made in USA, discontinued prior to the ...

Re: YES, YES, YES!!!! 4004Cii SHIPPED FROM RIC!

Hey, first post since the big change over. Thought this would be the thread to jump in on. Hoping my Trans Green 4004Cii is among the batch that seem forthcoming. (ordered 11/06) Very excited, it's my first 4004. I'm down to only one Ric bass atm, an '06 4003 jg. Been wheelin' & dealin' a bit ...

First: 1976 4001 MG aquired in June 1978. Most recent: 2006 4003 JG aquired Nov. 06. Between those two, were 2 more 4003's, and 2 620's, and another 4001. Next, and soon I hope, my first 4004Cii in Trans Green. Maybe before years end?

Yes, we run 120 volts @60 Hz, in the UK it's 230 volts @ 50 Hz. No compatability. I suppose you could have it modified, but that would require a new transformer, the most expensive part in an amp. Might make your savings dissapear.

Very nice work. Didn't think I'd ever like a Ric with that type of custom finish, but here I am, thinking about doing something like that to my old '77.

Having recently aquired a Gibson T bird Studio 5 string, it naturally gets alot of my attention. But, I always come back to the 77 4001 with Toaster and flats. It's so smooth and dreamy. With the Rock band, it's my 06 4003, and GL Jazz as back up, no question. Btw, Todd, I really like that Gibson ...

Charly, I'm looking for an SVT to upgrade from my V4BH. And, I have a Geddy Lee Jazz bass that I could part with. Email me if you think we could work something out.
