Re: 360 models are out
Howdy,
Slightly off-topic. Reading about all the 360/6 models being shipped to soon-to-be owners just reminds me how much I appreciate my '04 MG 360/6. It's effortless to play. I've made a few adjustments to the action and neck, which only enhances the enjoyment; it plays itself, seemingly ...

Re: Early 80's 360 thick top
Howdy,
I learn so much on this forum. Regarding the early '80's 300 series and thier thicker tops..who else can compare the amplified tone differences between the modern thinner tops and the older thicker topped models?

Re: Ric w/Fender Deluxe Reverb Reissue
Howdy,
Do I miss reverb on my Vibro Champ? Heck no; turn it up and you don't need reverb LOL
Remember, the Vibro Champ is more of a "hard rock" amp. They're popular for recording overdriven parts at "living room" decibel levels. I was all prepared to to fall in love with the Deluxe, but it just ...

Re: Country Music & Rickenbacker
Howdy,
I'm no figer-picker, but I have employed a little 320 "B" series guitar for lead guitar duties in a C&W group here in Louisiana. (mid 80's) This was back in my undergrad days at LSU. I even looked like a Beatle then! LOL. She served well as a back-up to my beat up Strat and gave me a ...

I'm in Shrevport, La. 2.5 hours East of you. I no longer live in Big D. Let me know if I can help.

Re: Ric w/Fender Deluxe Reverb Reissue
Howdy,
While I adore Champs/Vibro Champs (I've got a '68 VC) and Twins, the Deluxe never "did it" for me. I suppose one could consider the Deluxe Reverb to be a 20 watt version of the Vibro Champ, but it never turned me on. I know that my opinion is in the minority here.

Lovely! She's more flamey than my MG 360/6. Enjoy that beautiful guitar.

Re: Was there ever a 360 DB in Montezuma Brown?
Howdy,
Thanks for the pics. Why Walnut/ Monty Brown isn't a standard color I'll never know; it's stunning on a 360/4001 or 620. Rickenbacker's sunburst finishes seem to really stand out on bound models. Of course, YMMV.

Re: Rics in your dreams
Howdy,
I'm pretty much with Paul on this one. On the other hand, it would be nice if a young Halle Berry showed up in one of my dreams bearing a FG 360/6 WB!
I can just see it now, dressed in a lovely evening dress and holding out that killer Rickenbacker, she'd lick her lips and say ...

Re: NRD! And some questions (330 v. 360)
Howdy,
Chuck: Thanks for the carification about the P/Us. So now that we know that both guitars are stock, the plot thickens..
You are probably right about the string guage being the explanation. The more I strum my MG 360/6, the more I like it; that rounded top is almost Stratocaster-like in it's ...

Howdy,
Keep those vids coming! I especially like the "I Can't Explain" clip from Shindig. Talk about energy ! It's a shame that Pete and his Rickenbacker weren't included just a bit more by the camera people. Outside of the Beatles and the Byrds, I can't think of a clip that is a better ...

Re: Amazing Grain - 69' 360 MG's back
Howdy,
Great post, Kevin! I wanted to add that I chose my MG 360/6 over a FG 330/6 in the late Summer of '05.
The FG 330 had a flamed back with about 66% as much flame as the one seen in your photo; pretty impressive.
In regards to the 360 you posted, it makes me wonder why Rickenbacker chose to ...

Re: NRD! And some questions (330 v. 360)
Howdy,
Chuck, it appears that the P/Us on your new 330 might well be "Toaster tops" are they? Stock P/Us, as you well know are Hi-Gains. If indeed your 360 has Hi-Gains, while that sharp-looking 330 has Toasters, well there you have a big reason for the difference in tone.
