Anyone know whether RIC make that roller bridge? Mike Parks doesn't show them for sale.

I think I remember JH saying it was a ABM bridge.

Yes, that's correct, ABM is the current supplier of this part.

Was Fireglo an option on the 4004's back in 1997? Ebay link:http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3708510054&category=4713

It was but probably not well publicized.

It also may have been one of those things where we said "Let's see what it looks like".

Is it possible to get the quick release tailpiece for the ABM bridge? I know that it just screws on to the baseplate of the bridge so it would be easy to replace. I tried Allparts but they couldn't help at all.

This is a custom part, made to our specs. It's all one piece, except for the saddles.

John,
On the bottom of the baseplate are screws that attach the tailpiece that the strings and intonation screws go through, I have taken this piece off! I have seen this same type of ABM bridge on Pedulla basses and I have seen the same type of ABM bridge with string slots in the tailpiece. In fact, doesn't the photo on your website show the 4004/5Cii with string slots on the bridge? I think would be a very nice feature for those of us that switch back and forth between different strings depending on the gig or recording, like I do between roundwounds and flatwounds.

No Jeffrey, that's an ABM aftermarket part. Ours is machined from solid brass.

Are you saying the complete bridge including the tailpiece section is one solid item (discounting the saddles of course)? If so, the bridge that came on my new 4004Cii was replaced by Mike Parks before he shipped it to me. I have the ABM bridge that came on Jeff Rath's 4004L, and it also has a removeable tailpiece. This is very curious.

My stock Cii also has a two piece bridge, with the base plate being separate from the rear plate that the strings pass through.
