I would leave it as original as possible. No rout. I learned a hard lesson messin with my 64 P bass back in the 70s. I can still get more than the $175.00 I paid for it but no where near what an original one is worth these days. I understand exactly what you're saying but I think it might be a diff...

Hey Ron, its cool that you chimed in. I remember seeing the Dwarfs several times. In fact, one of the things that always had me jonesing for a Ric when I was younger was that tiger-striped 4001 on the back of one of the early LPs! So... Yonge & Eglinton... Think he's interested in selling? :D
