Re: Allparts vs. Vintage Ric Bridge

Its not so much an alloy issue as a casting one. After a typed that last post i was thinking the same thing.I stand corrected Dane lol.The casting is what makes the all parts bridge stronger. If you turn a stock rick and an allparts upside down you will notice a world of difference. The rick is hollow ...

Re: Allparts vs. Vintage Ric Bridge

All parts rick replacement vs. vintage rick bridge....Hmmnnnnn.The original aluminum sandcast ones are by far the best..Its finding one! That being the case..If your old rick is still able to take a stock bridge, the allparts stock rick repro is the best!Far better than the stock bridge rick uses ...

Re: Least Favorite Bassists

I think we should start a thread on "The best UNDERATED bassists"Because All of the bassists listed in this thread(except a few exceptions.such as Sid Vicious who was completely talentless)I think we are all merely tired of listening too.We all have basically Grown up listening to them. And now most ...

Re: New RIC 4004Cii Special

I like the one offs ive seen from rick lately. But to be honest,It really wasnt that special.I also agree with Dane that if it would have had a 4002 or a jazz bass pickup spacing. It would have probably got alot of attention.

Re: Have I become a Rickenbacker snob?

Former RRF member Jeff Rath,is famous for his five string conversions. You can probably find him talk bass.I know he's done a conversion or two for some forumites here.He does a great job.

Re: Which Rick Bass???

To say that newer 4003's are better basses is a false statement.Old 4001 truss rods are not an issue when set up correctly. In fact once tightened, you hardly ever have to adjust the neck! The early aluminum sand cast bridges are by far superior to the newer zinc ones. They never have tail lift and the ...
